After visiting with Bonnie and Murray
(we had so much fun, we forgot to take pics!),
we were off heading east.
Ahhh, the prairies straight ahead.
Cold.
Open skies.
Horizons.
However, this is still Alberta:
So much beauty all around,
if we have the eyes to see it.
From the highway we saw this sign of a town with an Ukrainian name.....
It was a little village off the beaten path.
Made us hopeful.....
...for some hearty Ukrainian food.
Two streets, one restaurant and the real deal:
Bingo!
I must admit it was awesome
(I tried not to think about the calories!)
Back on the road again:
The sun seems bigger here
Driving by Elk Island National park ( about an hour east of Edmonton),
we got to see some of its wild bison's just separated by the highway fence.
What a treat!
Then another car stopped as well and they got spooked.
Amazing how these large animals can move!
You can just see their bu$$s disappearing in the woods-
a cloud of snow:
a cloud of snow:
We almost reached our destination for the night.
And here we are, settling into our routine of yet another night in yet another motel
-really enjoying our gypsy lifestyle-
the man, the dog and the bird
Goodbye Alberta, Hello Saskatchewan!
