Squamish, BC -Revelstoke, BC

Traveling with two pets during the shortest days of the year,
we decided to take our time to cross this vast country.

Our goal was only to travel during daylight hours to reduce driving stress i.e. not get into wildlife situations/ accidents in the dark.

Squamish greeted us with beautiful bizarre fog early in the morning.
We loaded up the car and
took the route up and past Whistler:

BC is truly beautiful!

Steadily we climb:
One avalanche area after another.

Even chicken-bird strained to read the sign.

Little highway hugging the lakeside

Yes, truly Avalanche area....

 Pit-stop

It was sunny, but very windy and cold out there:

Winding our way out of the mountains
heading east,
the landscape transforms almost desert- like

More fields and farming in this area

Free roaming horses

And cattle

Deserted log-cabins still bear silent witness to the early settlers of this area

Next stop Revelstoke, BC
