Mid August we had the pleasure to house-sit for our friends
(which worked out perfectly as the bathroom floor in our small downtown apartment
needed to be replaced...)
So here we were out in nature near the lake and are taking in the quietness,
smells of water and freshly cut grass...
Two weeks of bliss
Well, we also were taking care of all their pets-
besides ours:
Romeo & Juliet
Jack
(we adore him!)
And of course Lucky and Socks:
Quite enjoying the view from the screened deck
sipping coffee in the morning on our rocking chairs
Taking care of the life-stock
Going for an evening paddle
Mr Beaver swimming away from me as fast as he can
Spending time here has been a welcomed break as I just started job # 3 (working and learning all three at the same time, mind you)
and my brain is fried
I see it as a good Alzheimer's Prevention plan...
and look forward
to this at the end of the day:
Everybody is having a good time and we are doing lots of swimming

Little rabbit was hanging out near the chicken coop each night
Yes, did I mention that we also were caretakers for 12 chicken?
So much fun!!
Besides, organic eggs are the best!

We welcomed this time here as a gift, as life had gotten quite busy already
and it was so nice to be away in nature for a few weeks.
It also confirmed again, that we are both hybrids when it comes to country or city living:
We love the downtown buzz with all the restaurants and fun things just as much as we need the quietness in nature:
sitting by the lakeside,
sipping a glass or Amarone and listening to the call of the loon at dusk
feels just so nourishing to my soul
