House For Sale

So as you can guess by the title of this blog it was time to move

and sell our little home.

That made me think back about the changes we had made to it 

and "why the heck were we always so busy 

with all kinds of projects?"

How quickly one forgets, I find...

So I went through our pics to share some of these changes, days of hard work and sweat, and also a lot of fun and 

free-flowing creativity with you:

Well, here we are on our very first day in Duncan in front of our little home....

... the home with the "pink and mint-green" everything and the rather potent light fixtures....

Some very nice friends helped us move all our stuff in-

Some of our items had been still in storage from when we had moved

from Montreal to BC and

some we brought across from Thetis Island, a little island

where we had lived for the year prior to this...

So here is the quick tour:

My brothers Daniel & Toby along with Jens were visiting just after we had moved in 

It is hard to see, but even the fireplace tiles had a hint of pink ;

Yes, I know...

Finally a change in the color scheme in the office: 

Purple walls and ....pink...... carpet

The garden was pretty much a blank slate which I liked.

It would make things easier in terms of adding our own touch to things.

Since we were almost into fall, I decided to paint the shed first,

to be able to start to work the land around it. 

We thought that we could always work the inside of the house in fall/ winter.

I wanted to get rid of the squareness by adding some soft, round edges.

This area once being a gravel pit we knew we had to add some soil,

would we want anything to grow properly

Fence is only painted up to the freshly seeded grass so far

  I am working on a raised flower bed near the shed

 I opted for natural stones instead of cinder blocks for the retaining wall

Yay!

The fence is done and the grass has filled in nicely.

And now for some more added outdoor living space:

Yes, there were still so many different projects such as a little pond and a water fall

Inside we were exited to see the last of mint-green!

The dirty grey carpet was still in place, however, 

providing Minnie, the super-dog,

with a lot of traction

when it came to cheekiness-maneuvers

Excitement-

Finally we can put our touch on things!

(Steve did a lot of the painting)

I am prepping the upstairs and stairs to put down the laminate

Everybody needs a break once in a while

Some flooring changes in the kitchen

I have not put any baseboards up yet, 

but I am done with the flooring of the entire upstairs and very happy with it -

did it all by myself, too   :)

So, to start from our humble beginnings here at Stoneridge Road.....

Now, with the renos being done and after having enjoyed some time in our home
it's time to move.

Ahhhh, the garden-
one of my personal favorite places:

 There must have been a "hang-out" in the trees near by,

as we saw and heard them often:

 Slowly, but surely, other critters are showing up:

I build the "waterfall" in small shallow pools, 

so the birds would be able come for a swim/drink 
and 

it was a thrill to see 

when they finally showed up, 

drinking and splashing:

 The peach tree on a crisp fall day- changing colors

and simply enjoying the fruit of our labor

As we feel led to leave this beautiful place,

we are exited about our next home and it's possibilities-

May we have just as much fun transforming it as we did with this one :)
