These pictures speak for themselves...Max was found in this state just around Valentine's day...
His owner had a several horses out in the field and "just liked to look at them"; that's what he told the people who rescued Max.
Max had a severe infection around his right eye and his mane was matted and full with burrs (german: Kletten) and pus. He was about 600 lbs underweight.
He had had been out in the field without much human contact for about 8 years.
He must have been in so much pain that it caused him to stop eating and loose such an amount of weight.
So he was taken away from his brother who was also in the herd and the other horses and arrangements for surgery were made.
