On Thanksgiving weekend,
Sharon came to visit and we showed her the area a bit...
We took the drive along the massive St. Laurence River with it's "1000 Islands"
Went to small farmer's markets
And took the drive to charming Westport
If you take a closer look at the pic below
you' ll notice a massive long beaver dam
Westport-
We enjoyed the views from the harbor
..and the Century homes
My man and his dog
Watching the float planes come and go
We continued out drive to our Capitol:
Ottawa
A perfect October Day in Ontario-
sunshine and blue skies
Sharon
in front of the Parliament
There we are,
sitting in front of the parliament buildings by the eternal flame...
Then it occurred to us that the last time we sat there was on our third date-
almost exactly 10 years ago to the day:
Thanksgiving Monday in 2001:

That day we decided to get married and talked about:
" So are you moving to my country or am I moving to yours...?"
I had originally come to Canada to visit friends (Steve and Fiona),
met Steve and left engaged.
Crazy, right?
When you know, you just know.
For sentimental value,
here another oldie:
Visiting Steve and Fiona Thiessen enjoying a day at Mont Tremblant:
(Okeee, enough of that...)
:)
Back to the presence.
Here's my husband, the friendly Manitoban,
"saluting" the province of the bison
Fall colors at every turn
The Rideau river that separates Ontario and Quebec
We decided to go for a short drive to over
to Quebec up to Gatineau Park:
It was beautiful
On our way home we stopped for cappuccino
Thanksgiving with friends
And more great food and memories made
It was also mid-October that Minnie met her first porcupine......
A new experience for us.
Fortunately for us (not so much for poor Minnie)
there was YouTube telling us what to do....
and pliers at hand
